Bikram's Biggest Losers
In 2012, Bikram Yoga Portsmouth started the Bikram’s Biggest Losers program to help combat the leading cause of preventable death in America: Obesity. Since its inception, BBLers have lost over 1,600 pounds at Bikram Yoga Portsmouth and regained their confidence, health and happiness.
The BBL fever is spreading with challenges popping up all over the US and Canada.
The challenge is held every fall in Portsmouth from mid-September to mid-December. Participants with a BMI of 30 or higher are required to take a minimum of four classes a week along with the support of our skilled teachers, student-coaches and supportive fellow challengers.
This year, we have teamed up with Yoga Instructor and Holistic Nutritionist Erin Holt to bring the same depth, self care and awareness to the plate that we work toward on the mat. This dynamic combination of yoga instruction, nutritional education, self-introspection will help you to break the pattern of destructive behaviors and learn to care for and fuel your body like the temple it truly is.
The program will also feature a Emotional Freedom Technique for Sustainable and Healthy Weight Loss training session with Cheri Keirstead.
Our inaugural winner, Kevin Drohan, lost an astounding 70 pounds during the challenge and went on to lose another 30 pounds in his first year of yoga.
The next BBL challenge runs from September 10th to December 10th, 2016.
